Haemorrhoids, fissures, fistulae, and perianal abscesses

These conditions are common and often very painful — but highly treatable. Dr von Papen provides gentle assessment in a respectful environment, medical management where appropriate, office-based procedures such as haemorrhoid banding, and advanced surgical management for complex or recurrent disease.
Swollen blood vessels around the anus causing pain, itching, and bleeding. Treatment ranges from banding to HAL-RAR or excisional haemorrhoidectomy for severe cases.
A small tear in the lining of the anus causing sharp pain and bleeding. Most heal with topical therapy; persistent fissures may require botox injections or a minor surgical procedure.
Abnormal tunnels or infected fluid collections near the anus. Both typically require surgical drainage or repair, sometimes with seton placement for complex fistulae.
