Please ensure you bring a valid referral from your GP or specialist to your appointment. All private appointment bookings, enquiries and correspondence are managed by the GCSS administration team.

Referrals
All new patients require a GP or specialist referral. This ensures Medicare and private health fund rebates apply and allows Dr von Papen to review your relevant scans and results beforehand. Please bring your referral letter to your appointment along with any recent test results, imaging reports, or relevant medical records.
Public Hospital Patients
Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH)
Dr von Papen also sees patients publicly as part of the greater GCUH Colorectal Team. In the public system, one of the colorectal team members will see you after your GP makes an appropriate public system referral through the GCUH central referral process.
