Overview

A Portacath provides long-term venous access for patients requiring regular chemotherapy, blood tests, or infusions. It sits comfortably beneath the skin and can remain in place for months or years.

The device is implanted as a minor surgical procedure under local anaesthetic or light sedation. It avoids the need for repeated needle sticks, making treatment more comfortable for patients undergoing ongoing therapy.
